The Scouts enjoyed a great trip to Fort Leonard Wood in south-central Missouri. We stayed in an unused wing of an active barracks where recruits were being trained. Our guide for the weekend was a great drill sergeant. We practiced hand-to-hand combat with the recruits, visited the base museum and PX, swam in the indoor pool, and went bowling. Before we left, the sergeant gave many of our Scouts some of the old BDU uniforms that are not being worn in the army any longer.
