Lone Hill Onyx Cave
Meramec Conservation Area
June 22, 2002
For the June caving campout the troop went to Lone Hill in Meramec Conservation
Area. There were lots of ticks and huge spiders in our campsite. But there
was one big highlight for the campout -- the cave! It was very wet and muddy.
A couple Scouts got claustrophobic and went back to the campsite, and they took
the cave maps with them. But it was impossible to get lost in the cave, and we
had fun exploring ahead without maps. When we got back to the campsite we
found the people who had left early singing a Goldfish jingle...
It's our jingle for Goldfish,
A song we sing for Goldfish,
The snack that always smiles back
Until you bite their heads off.
You know they're made of real cheese,
Although they look like fishies.
The snack that smiles back, Goldfish.
