August, 2004

This was one of the best trips we've taken. We camped in Johnson Shutins State Park, hiked a great part of the the Taum Sauk trail, and swam in the famous shutins. The shutins are like a big natural water park. We didn't make our usual fast dash home Sunday morning. Instead we visited the Taum Sauk reservoir and museum and climbed up the Taum Sauk lookout tower. We had a picnic lunch before we started the long drive home.
